Hebrews 12:1-3
OPENING DISCUSSION
Why do people grow weary in the Christian life over time?
READ
Hebrews 12:1-3 (ESV)
DISCUSS:
What does it look like to be ‘weary’ in the Christian life?
What does it mean that we are ‘surrounded’ by a great cloud of witnesses?
How do these witnesses encourage us to fix our eyes on Christ?
When we consider Christ’s suffering, how does this lead us to persevere and not grow weary?
Why are we encouraged to throw off sin and ‘anything that hinders’? How does this help us?
What kinds of things are not sin but hinder us from fixing our eyes on Christ?
Would you describe yourself as spiritually weary at the moment? Why/why not?
