The Man

Jesus was a real, historical, physical person who lived in Israel 2000 years ago. He was born into a Jewish family, grew up and worked as a carpenter, and from the age of 30-33 traveled around Judea and the surrounding areas, preaching, loving hurting people, and doing many amazing things that many accepted as miraculous.  He received a criminal’s death at the hands of the roman empire, however many hundreds of people claim that they saw him again risen in a physical body and then ascend into heaven to return again.

Jesus arrived on the stage of human history on a mission — to bring people back into a relationship with God, he did this by substituting himself for us, Although he lived a perfect life, he died in the place of the guilty, so that now anyone who believes in him can stand before God with Jesus’ righteousness instead of their own. Through his death he paid the price we all owe, and in his resurrection he gave the guarantee of new life for all who trust in hi

Jesus, teaching, unlike many other religious teachings, is not about ‘doing better. Jesus taught that nobody can make themselves right before God, and that they will either exhaust or delude themselves in trying. Jesus’ message was one of unconditional love and forgiveness. He taught that God accepts people into relationship with him, not on the basis of who they are, but on the basis of who he is, a loving father.  Jesus’ offers a new life, a new start, and a new hope to anyone who would come to him, and realize that he is the way to a true relationship with God.

Still not sure?
Whatever you currently think about Jesus, it is undeniable that Christianity has shaped a huge part of the world today. 2000 years after Jesus walked the earth, people are still living for him, praying to him, dying for him and being changed by him. If you want to find out more about why that is, we would love to help you. We run a course called ‘Christianity Explored’ Which gives an opportunity for you to actually look into Jesus for yourself, to ask any questions you may have, and even to raise any objections that you feel are keeping you from accepting him. If you would like to find out more about this, or have any other questions about Jesus we would love to hear from you.
